Machines with a high level of performance for many application areas: that is how Husqvarna’s new product line can be summarized. The heart of the system is the patented Dual Drive Technology.
Husqvarna Construction Product’s new product line for surface preparation and polishing can effectively remove floor glue, coatings, paint and epoxy adhesive build-ups, be used for repairing worn-out concrete floors and also for polishing concrete, terrazzo and natural stone. The patented drive system, Dual Drive Technology™, is central to the machine’s high level of performance. The technology is based on a system using two separate motors – one for the grinding discs and one for the planetary head – enabling the user to completely control speed and direction. Every individual grinding head can be set to rotate in the opposite direction, or the same direction, in regard to the planetary head it is attached to. In addition, the speed of the grinding discs and planetary head can be regulated variably. This provides many more options for optimising the speed for the material to be processed. “Dual Drive Technology not only provides incredible power but also extreme flexibility. The machines can be adapted to any task,” says Alexander Wennergren–Helm, Head of Construction Equipment, Husqvarna Construction Products. Three grinding- and polishing machines, the floor concept, Hiperfloor™ and two industrial dust extraction units are included in the product family: Husqvarna PG 820 – one of the best in its class Husqvarna PG 820 is one of the market’s strongest and most efficient machines: a triple-headed surface preparation and finishing machine with characteristics and usage areas that have not been available until now. The PG 820 provides high grinding speeds for fast removal of difficult, strong surfaces and coatings as well as polishing of floors in industrial environments. Other advantages are low tooling costs, smoother and more even grinding surfaces than what four-headed machines can offer and an increased life-cycle thanks to a 5-way sealing mechanism that protects bearings and internal parts from aggressive concrete dust and sludge. The PG 820 is equipped with Dual Drive. Husqvarna PG 680 – strong and flexible The machine is smaller in size than the PG 820, with a 680 mm grinding width and weighing 385 kilos, but easy to handle and operate without sacrificing strength or power. The PG 680 has the same good technical characteristics as the PG 820 and is also equipped with Dual Drive. Husqvarna PG 530 – efficient lightweight This planetary grinding machine that weighs only 200 kilos has a unique capacity for lighter commercial applications. Based on the latest technology, the PG 530 has more strength and power than other triple-headed planetary grinding machines in its class. The PG 530 comes in both single-phase and three-phase models. The machine can be driven forward and backward with variable adjustments and has an extended lifetime thanks to the 5-way sealing mechanism, etc. Husqvarna Hiperfloor™ – a revolutionary floor concept The new product line also includes Hiperfloor, which makes floor preparation with epoxy glue, linoleum or paint a thing of the past. Concrete surfaces are ground down to a highly polished floor with a longer lifetime and less maintenance needs. The result is an easy-to-maintain floor with exceptional durability, lustre and appearance throughout its entire lifetime. Husqvarna DC 3300 and DC 5500 – effective dust collection system Two powerful industrial dust extraction units, the Husqvarna DC 3300 and DC 5500, complete the product family within surface preparation and finishing. With three different filters, a unique bag disposal system for unhealthy materials and the ability to function in both wet and dry conditions, nothing more could be desired. Both models can be used separately, while the DC 5500 can also be connected directly to the two largest models for surface preparation and finishing, which reduces almost all grinding dust.
