Husqvarna Construction Products launches new diamond tools, which provide an increase in cutting speed over conventional tools – with retained tool life.
“Diagrip provides an even and stable cutting in all types of materials, even reinforced concrete. This feature, in combination with high cutting speed and longer life, means that we can really talk about a revolution in diamond tool technology. It’s a tool the user can depend upon even in very tough environments”, says Michel Hubermont, Vice President Diamond Tools Construction. Husqvarna Construction Products is a world-leader in diamond grit coatings, mainly due to its long presence in the stone industry. The company has used the Diagrip technology for natural stone, where requirements call for efficient, long-lasting and powerful tools for sawing hard materials. Now this technology has been refined and transferred to the company’s construction business. “The Diagrip technology involves a specific treatment of the diamonds so that they are distributed optimally in the segments. The diamonds are also kept longer in the segments and can thus be fully utilized. The result is diamond tools with superior cutting capacity in all types of concrete”, continues Michel Hubermont. The optimal distribution of the diamond grits provides a superior cutting speed compared to other systems with aligned distribution. In addition to this, the Diagrip technique also significantly improves the life of the tool because of the even protection of the metal bond. The Diagrip technology will be applied on Husqvarna’s high-end tools and used on a range of products: diamond blades for wall saws and floor saws, diamond rings, diamond drill bits, diamond wires etc. It will be launched during the spring of 2008 and supported by a global advertising campaign.
